Down With The Deep

I saw her face
To say I was young
Would be
To call it fate

Love does not stop
At bumps in the road
It isn’t hindered by shut doors
It knocks, not with fright
But with a look of care

Sweat and tears
Made her river flow deep
But the depth is so sweet
I bathe in the sun
I soak in the water

My own was but a puddle
She left a shuffle
But I dug deep
Into the soil

To say I drowned
Would be but a saying
But with one so traveled
I was safe to let it in

Love does not stop
At bumps in the road
It isn’t hindered by shut doors
It knocks, not with fright
But with a look of care

Though the ink speaks loud
Though mistakes are made
Lines crossed out
To never be re-written
With a grain of salt
That’s how we’ll flow
Down with the deep
That’s how we’ll go
